Help build Schoolers

Schoolers is built and run by volunteers from the School of Math, so our community can find each other again, wherever life has taken us. If you have skills to share, we would love your help.

Open to every schooler — anyone who studied at the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences & Informatics (the School of Math): current students, graduates, and those who spent time there before moving on.

Where help matters most right now

One or two people in each of these is plenty.

Most needed

Server & DevOps

Keep the server healthy: deployments, updates, backups and monitoring. Everything runs on one small Linux server with Docker and Coolify, so care matters more than scale.

Backend & database

Look after the Postgres database behind Supabase: migrations, the security rules that decide who can see what, query performance, and keeping members' data consistent.

Frontend & design

Design and improve the pages people actually use, in React and Tailwind — on phones first, in both English and Arabic.

Security & privacy

Watch the traffic and access, look for vulnerabilities before anyone else does, and help make sure members' personal data never leaks.

Social media & community

Run Schoolers' own pages on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn: share reunions and new features, spotlight members (with their permission), and help each batch find its way here.

Anything else

We welcome anything. Arabic copy and translation, writing, ideas, reporting a bug, or telling your batch the site exists — all of it helps.

How it works

  • It's voluntary, and on your own time. Tell us what you're good at and how much time you have.
  • Work happens in the open, on GitHub, reviewed by others in the team.
  • Access is given step by step, as trust builds — members' data deserves that care.
