What this directory is for, who can join, how it may be used, and what a volunteer-run service can and cannot promise.

What Schoolers is

A community directory for alumni and community members of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences & Informatics, University of Khartoum, built and run by alumni volunteers. It is not an official University service, and the University does not operate it.

Who can join

Alumni and members of the FMSI community. Because there is no automated way to verify that, every profile is reviewed by an administrator or a batch representative before it appears publicly.

Accurate information

Use your real name and real details. Profiles that impersonate someone else, or that are clearly fabricated, will be rejected or removed. Your profile represents you to people who may act on it — a classmate reaching out, an employer checking a name.

How you may use the directory

To find and reconnect with people from the school. Not for bulk collection of members' details, marketing, recruitment spam, or any automated scraping of the directory. The people listed here agreed to be findable by their community, not to be a mailing list.

Treat other members with the respect you would in person. Harassment, or using someone's contact details against their wishes, is grounds for removal.

Content you upload

You keep ownership of what you upload, and you give Schoolers permission to display it in the directory for as long as your profile exists. Only upload a photo you have the right to use — your own picture, not someone else's.

Moderation

Administrators and batch representatives review profiles and may approve, reject, or remove them. Representatives can only review profiles for the batch they represent, and can change a profile's status but not edit its content.

Availability and liability

This is a free, volunteer-run service in its first version, provided as it is. It runs on a single server and may be unavailable at times. We take backups and take care with your data, but we cannot promise uninterrupted service or guarantee against loss, and we are not liable for how other members use information you chose to publish.
